What is Kyoto Event?
Kyoto Event is a Japanese language exchange and Cutural Party held every Thursday, London. from 7.00pm till 11.45pm
Kyoto Event is a Social event with Cultural talks, presentations and performances
It is an opportunity for:
* Japanese people living in UK to practice their English language skills and build up knowledge about British and other Cultures
* non- Japanese to practice their Japanese language skills, learn about Japan and its culture
* meeting new people and building up a network of friends
* learning or participating in the Cultural activities
* a good place for networking and making new friends
* having fun and enjoying a drink with a cultural talks and performances
Does it cost me anything to attend:
Admission fee:
On regular events with (or without) Cultural talks:
* ￡1 for ladies and students before 7:30pm / ￡3 for others
* ￡2 for ladies and students after 7:30pm / ￡3 for others
On Special Events with Performances:
* ￡2 for ladies and students at anytimes / ￡3 for others
*no membership needed for new members. We welcome everyone who has interest in cultures and making friends (We do refuse membership for the ones who do not comply with our rules)
What is expected of me at Kyoto Event:
Participants at Kyoto Event are expected to:
* Help create a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere to all
* Be friendly to new members
* Create an atmosphere of dialogue and exchange of information
* Have fun and encourage others to come along!
* Respect other attendees' boundaries, cultures and wishes
* Talk to various people and join our network of regular friends at Kyoto events
* Your objectives to attend are in line with Kyoto event's ones
* Give the organisers of any feedback or concerns
What is extra:
The culture talks and performances are delivered by anyone who wish to share information, skills or entertain the attendees of Kyoto Event. The topics can be various and may cover other cultures. the slot can be between 10 min to 30 min and may be more than one slot in one event. We usually aim to have two slots, one about Japanese culture (up to 15 min) and the other one about British and other cultures

• Karaoke night - collection of English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean songs. Karaoke was provided by the best Japanese Karaoke Box in London
Japanese films presentation
• Showing (Ueno Juri) movie on our venue screens, presentation and Free raffle of Japanese movies
UK's Gal circle / Gyarusa
• Culture talk about the Uk's first Gal Circle/Gyarusa, their fashion, activities, music and the dance
Jazz music night by Japanese Jazz artist
• Jazz music & Japanese popular arrange songs will be performed by Mayphy's Jazz Band (Band formed of 7 Jazz artists)
UK's Gal circle / Gyarusa
• Culture talk about the Uk's first Gal Circle/Gyarusa, their fashion, activities, music and the dance
• The Violin & Guitar performance by Masa-Kun and Nabu, an electric violinist and acoustic guitarist will be entertaining you with various kinds of music. There should be one or two songs which you love from the ones listed below, please let Masa and Nabu know your favourite song when you arrive.
- Studio Gibli songs: Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Mononoke Princess etc.
- Ryuichi Sakamoto: Senjo no Merry Christmas, Energy Flow, etc.
- Game/ Anime songs: Super Mario Brothers, Final Fantasy, Dragon quest, Sailor Moon , etc.
- Classical music, jazz standards, French jazz, Irish music, Japanese songs, film songs, musicals...East Enders...
